After a LONG hiatus, we've decided to start sharing our shoots on our blog again.

Our most recent was a techwear shoot in Atlanta. We gathered our besties, Becki and Berni, and headed to a few spots in Atlanta to shoot. We decided on the Millennium Museum, right next to Atlantic Station. We got there at just the right time because towards the end of our session more photographers were bringing their clients to shoot.

The Walton's Family Photo Session

I have become the family photographer for The Walton's. It helps that I am also family (Kara is my cousin and best friend) and the godmother to their handsome baby boy, Isaac. I had the pleasure to take their maternity photos, birth photos, newborn photos, and now their first family photos. Taking photos with a 5 month old is a challenge. How to keep their attention, while also trying to capture a smile, not an easy task.

We met at McDonough square, which is ever changing with new businesses. The square provided a great backdrop for our session. 

Chris and Janet's Engagement Session

When Janet posted requesting suggestions for a wedding photographer, I knew it was my chance to really start our photography business journey. I told her about our plans to start our own photography and videography business, asking her to give us a chance. I told her we would take their engagement photos pro-bono to allow for them to see our skill set and to see if they like our aesthetic. We planned for April, when the weather was warmer.

We took their engagement photos and a sample video at the venue they are getting married. 

Four Oaks Manor is a beautiful location. It is an old prehistoric home that was converted into a wedding venue. The top floor is the bridal suite, the bottom is the groom suite, along with kitchen and sitting room. They have a beautiful garden area where the wedding and reception will be held. The location gave us a wonderful backdrop for photos. It was also great to see the venue before the wedding to plan out the day.

Chris and Janet were easy to work with. I followed their natural ways to look and pose, while also slightly directing them. I like the more natural poses, because people tend to look uncomfortable otherwise, though unless your a celebrity no one is really used to posing "naturally."

Photography Adventures

I (Savannah) have always wanted to get into photography. I was the photography editor of our yearbook and when a classmate tells you that she always thought you were a photographer, than maybe you are. Well, after receiving my first DSLR camera and having opportunities to learn, we have decided to create our own photography + Film business together. Hubby, Paul, is always creating videos so it's perfect!
