Dining room decor

When I first came across our home on Zillow, what helped sell me on it was their decor. I could easily picture myself in the home. Sure, some of the colors were not my choice, but a fresh coat of paint is easy. 

They had a similar dining room table, and I fell in love with it. It fit perfect with my style, which is rustic/modern. Which seems to be the going trend. Hey, I am from the South, so it make sense.

We purchased the table and chair set on Wayfair (here), like I stated before they had the best deals! This piece, sure we had to put together (which a majority of our furniture we did and Boy, was that a chore!) but it was worth it! It is great quality and for a bargain price! 

The dinner plate set was purchased online from Target (another favorite store, but who hasn't fallen under Target's charm?). The table mats were also a Target find, and fit with our navy and grey theme. The lantern is from our wedding. It has our unity candle, which we chose to include all of our guests in, uniting us all as a family. It was a windy day, so it was bit of a challenge, but I had no problem walking down the aisle to light everyone's candle myself. I found this beautiful lantern and candle holder set on Etsy, they personalized it and again the price was great!

 I found this shadow box at Marshall's, another great store for home decor. The P & S was from our wedding, we found these on sale at Michaels. Our wedding theme was starwars, which we both are big fans of. I mean his nickname is Sky, shortened as he got older from Skywalker. We had touches of Starwars throughout or wedding decor and I got this personalized canvas for our guest to sign.

 I found this cabinet at Target, another piece we built. It fit perfectly and I just had to have it! I always wait for a sale, I'm a bargain shopper for sure. It worked great during our house warming party, too. It held some of the snacks, allowing for our table to stay decorated. During our housewarming party it was decided that our home will now house Thanksgiving, so I see it working well again soon!

Our dog's food and water are against the back wall under the decor, so you will easily find Zelda there. She also loves that spot because it is right under a vent, which keeps her cool in the Georgia heat (luckily it has felt nice, like fall is right around the corner.)
