Our Living Room

Friday, September 1, 2017

We moved into our new home in June and we are proud of our accomplishment! It is both of our first home that we bought. It is a ranch style home with a split bedroom plan, meaning on one side is the master bedroom and on the other side is our two guest bedrooms, with the center of our home having the kitchen/dining room and living room. When I first saw this online I fell inlove (not evening knowing the layout!) I told my husband that we had to go see it. Once I saw it in person I was SOLD! My husband was a little hesitant, were we really ready, is there something else out there, etc. I mean this was the first home we actually went to see. I knew I shouldnt get attached, however I could see us in this house. It fit us perfectly! And wahlah, we were able to get it and pretty quickly I might add!

As you can tell our fur-babies are spoiled! We meant to keep them off the couch, but we also made the wise decision to purchase a couch that would sustain with our furry-pooches. Our theme is rustic/farmhouse/modern, if that makes any sense.

I used pieces from our wedding and ideas from Pinterest and this is the end result! There is still always room for improvement and growth, but Hey, remember this is our first house (We had little furniture to being with) and we have only had it for a couple of months now. I think we have done amazing!

I was very budget conscientious about how much we spent. This was our first time being on our own, completely and we knew once all the bills came we would need to make sure we had enough to pay everything and survive. So, I searched on every website to see which had the cheapest, yet best customer feedback. Wayfair.com is where we ended up obtaining a majority of our furniture (You can find some of the pieces here :Coffee table and TV Stand). There are a few pieces from Target and our couch is from Badcock Furniture.

We were gift a few of our decor pieces, which we love and fit in perfect with our color choices.4One of my favorite wedding gifts was from my friend Delilah, she gifted us a record player! It is such an awesome piece and we have many records to collect! (Any suggestions?)

The colors for the living room are Grey and Navy, which happened to be the colors from our wedding. It is both neutral and easy to decorate with. I figure during different months I can add different colors to bring in the season. (Spring/Summer: Yellow or Turquoise , Fall/Winter: Burgundy). We will see as time comes what we decide to do.

Below shows a vintage dresser that was my grandmothers. I updated it with a fresh coat of Navy paint, which modernized it a bit and helped it to fit in with the rest of the decor.

Our TV stand also is an electric fire place, which works wonders and sets the mood in the evening....I cant wait for Fall so we can utilize it more!

We will continue to show our home, room by room to show our progress.

We hope you have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!!
