1 Year Wedding Anniversary Weekend Fun

Monday, November 13, 2017

Sorry for the delay in posting. Life has been very busy as of late and any spare moment was spent binging on Netflix and Hulu. Sometimes you need a little break from things, and that is the closest thing I can get to a vacation right now. Owning a home has brought new challenges for us, and really is challenging our wallets. We will eventually get to a more comfortable position with our finances, but until then, stress is overtaking our lives (among other things).

Vintage Market Days

Sunday, October 1, 2017

I started my Saturday morning with my mom texting to invite us to go to Vintage Market days in Conyers. Its something we have never done and I have always wanted to go to a Rustic Market. We got up and got ready and met mom at her house. We decided to all ride together. It was around lunch time so mom took up to Old Town Conyers to the Tin Plate. It is a cute little bar/restaurant that offer different drafts and brews, with ever an ever evolving menu.

Rustic Bedroom

Tuesday, September 26, 2017

Our bedroom, like the rest of our home, is rustic/farmhouse inspired. Our bed frame is from Wayfair. (You can find a similar bed Here.) I saw this bed a immediately pictured it in our home. Wayfair's price made it even more appealing! It fit our home and style perfectly! We purchased our mattress from Rooms to go. It was during Memorial Day, so we got such a great deal. We decided on a Serta, it was comfortable and affordable. The bench is from Target.(You can find the same one here.) I ended up getting the mint green colored bench and painted it navy myself. It was cheaper and a fun little project.

Our Home and Irma

Sunday, September 17, 2017

So, we have not posted this week due to the damages that Irma brought. Our home is fine, however the winds blew over one of our trees in the front yard, which so happened to land on the power lines. It was a HUGE mess! The fire department was so busy all they could do was block it off with caution tape. However, it was causing quite the jam. It blocked half of the neighborhood from getting in and out. Finally, some guys decided to take matters into their own hands and cut the tree themselves, enough room to allow people to drive in and out. Before and while they were cutting, we helped people get their kids and allowed them to use our driveway to park. We did the little that we cold in this situation. We also, met a lot of our neighbors in the process.

The Escape of 2 Huskies

Sunday, September 10, 2017

When we first bought our home, what really sold us was the backyard. It was fenced in and was big enough for our huskies to run and enjoy life. We have more backyard to expand on, but that will come in time. Anyways, 3 sides of the fence are a privacy fence and the backside is a black metal fence. We were skeptical about the back part of the fence because Zelda is a fence jumper. So, my mom's boyfriend helped us by adding a blockade at the top, Jump That Zelda! It was funny to see her check out the fence when we first got here, trying anyway to hop, but realizing it was just too high for her. She would charge the fence and then at the last minute stop.

Dining room decor

Tuesday, September 5, 2017

When I first came across our home on Zillow, what helped sell me on it was their decor. I could easily picture myself in the home. Sure, some of the colors were not my choice, but a fresh coat of paint is easy.

They had a similar dining room table, and I fell in love with it. It fit perfect with my style, which is rustic/modern. Which seems to be the going trend. Hey, I am from the South, so it make sense.
We purchased the table and chair set on Wayfair (here), like I stated before they had the best deals! This piece, sure we had to put together (which a majority of our furniture we did and Boy, was that a chore!) but it was worth it! It is great quality and for a bargain price!

6 Ingredient Smoothie

Sunday, September 3, 2017

Happy Labor Day Weekend!!

I started today off with a nice workout, I really am working hard to get into shape!
I have been drinking a "breakfast" smoothie every morning for the past few weeks and it really helps keep up my energy and lasts until lunch.

Our Living Room

Friday, September 1, 2017

We moved into our new home in June and we are proud of our accomplishment! It is both of our first home that we bought. It is a ranch style home with a split bedroom plan, meaning on one side is the master bedroom and on the other side is our two guest bedrooms, with the center of our home having the kitchen/dining room and living room. When I first saw this online I fell inlove (not evening knowing the layout!) I told my husband that we had to go see it. Once I saw it in person I was SOLD! My husband was a little hesitant, were we really ready, is there something else out there, etc. I mean this was the first home we actually went to see. I knew I shouldnt get attached, however I could see us in this house. It fit us perfectly! And wahlah, we were able to get it and pretty quickly I might add!

The Blogging Adventure Begins

Thursday, August 31, 2017

This is my second time blogging, his first time blogging and our first time blogging together.
We have this motto that we do everything together, some of you may think we are crazy because you need your space, however we believe that there are certain things we go together or not at all. One major reason is because 5 of our 11 1/2 years was long distance, so we had plenty of time separated. The second reason is that we are each other's best friend, so why wouldn't we want to hangout together? He is one of the girls, my friends know that wherever I go he is surely coming with and vice versa. Sure there are times when we want some special time with just the girls or boys (harder for him since all of his close friends are in NY.), but those times only happen when the other one is at work and usually only consists of lunch and "window" shopping. 😉

We have begun a new adventure with buying our first house June of this year. We have always discussed the idea of making a blog together, it is just making sure you actually put in the time for the blog. So this adventure begins!

Thanks for your support and we hope to share more with you soon!
